Maggie Malone was born in Hawera on 1 January 1890.  She was the second daughter of Thomas and Alice Malone, and was nine years old when her older sister Mary, entered the sisters of St Joseph in Whanganui.
Later the family took up farming at Riverlea in Taranaki.  When Maggie was school age she and her brothers attended the Awatuna School.  She later went to Sacred Heart Convent Whanganui as a boarder for her secondary education.

In 1911 at the age of 21, Maggie followed in the footsteps of her older sister now known as Sister Gabriel, and entered the Sisters of St Joseph. Maggie was professed as a sister on 23 January 1913, taking the name of Clement.  Sister Clement became a gifted teacher, was a most conscientious person, and as local superior in Hastings in 1936 she was aware of and attentive to the needs of the young teaching sisters entrusted to her care.  Classes in those times were large, and with failing health herself, she was restricted to teaching in the mornings and resting in the afternoons.  Later that year her health deteriorated so much that she was taken back to Whanganui for special care.

Sister Clement died on 23 January 1941, and she is buried in the Heads Road Cemetery, Whanganui.
