Quinlan Court Manager off overseas

helendoyer.jpgQuinlan Court manager Helen Doyle is retiring from the position after managing the complex of modern and attractive units since it opened in 1998. The property in Harrison Street, provides quality living and independence for older people whilst being under one roof.

The proprietors are the Sisters of St Joseph of Nazareth, with the building being run by a Management Board. Helen said that as a charitable trust Quinlan Court Ltd will always continue to meet the needs of the people of Wanganui and outlying districts. She said managing Quinlan Court has been the fulfilment of a dream. She recalls Mayor Chas Poynter saying at the opening of the complex that Quinlan Court was a gift to the city of Wanganui from the Sisters of St Joseph.

Helen is having sabbatical leave for six months and will spend time travelling overseas. She will have time in Ireland and then have three months in Canada, where she will undertake a spirituality course called "Sabbath by the Sea". She is looking forward to that because she was brought up overlooking Wellington Harbour. "What could be better?"

On her return to New Zealand she plans to work in the field of archives involving the Sisters of St Joseph. This means she will live near Wellington, where the archives are kept.
