Celebrating with Goulburn Sisters 19 March 2013

St Joseph’s Day this year was one of very special significance for the Sisters of St Joseph Goulburn as they marked their fusion with the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart.  The Mass, celebrated in the North Goulburn Church, was attended by Sisters of the Josephite Congregations, friends, family members, parishioners and local dignitaries.  Archbishop  Carroll , Bishops Power and Hanna officiated, assisted by priests from all around the area.

Six Sisters represented the Whanganui Congregation for the festivities in Goulburn.  Those  Sisters unable to attend watched the live video stream of the Mass in their home areas, bringing a sense of connectedness in this further movement  towards unity.

In the photo, Sisters Kerrie Cusack of Goulburn and Anne Derwin Congregational Leader, stand beside the large urn of water symbolizing Josephite life.  They then gave containers of this water to the four Sisters waiting Catherine Shelton of Whanganui, Marion Gambin South Australia, Jill Dance Tasmania, and Josephine Dubiel Victoria.  These four Sisters then took the water out to bless the Congregation.

Some of the New Zealand Sisters of St Joseph were early to the Church Sisters Noelene Landrigan, Anne Burke, Yvonne Munro, Colleen Woodcock, Marlene Dunn and Christina Neunzerling.
Following the church celebration a dinner was held for the large number  present.

At Mt St Joseph in Whanganui, Sisters and staff members watched the celebration on the large screen, and celebrated in spirit with all those in Goulburn.
