Towards 25th Jubilee Hui August 2012

The first weekend of August was a coming together of the Sisters as they prepared for the final gathering of their 25th Jubilee Chapter/Hui 2012  beginning on 28th  September.   Reflections and discussions continued the Hui theme ‘Wanangahia a tatou korero - weaving our stories together’.

The weekend began with the Congregational Trust Board Annual General Meeting at which presentations and reports were given by Chairman Matthew Doyle, Business Manager Trish Boswell, Manager of Nazareth Rest Home Angela Aspinall, and Manager of Quinlan Court Maureen Beard.

Board member Kate Lynch makes a presentation to Maureen Beard following presentations to Angela Aspinall and Trish Boswell.

The following day various partners in mission joined the Sisters to reflect together on their collaboration in ministries, and their understanding and furtherance of the vision of ‘Kii tonu te ao, me te orokohanga te tangata fullness of life for the earth and its peoples’.   The day began with a brief ritual prayer symbolising the bringing together of the gifts and talents of all in the whakatauki / proverb: ‘Na to rourou, na taku rourou, ka ora ai te iwi with my food basket and your food basket the people will thrive’.

One of the many thought-provoking and lively discussions, led here by Sue Langford Relief Manager Quinlan Court, with Helen Ivory Clinical Nurse Leader Nazareth on the right, and Marie Geor rsj and Maree Hickey rsj on the left.

In following sessions, Sisters spent time on important items which they prepared further for Chapter decision making in September.
