Earth-Centred Mission Day 26 May 2010

This year’s annual Mission Day for staffs and volunteers of the Sisters of St Joseph facilities, focused on the aspect of the Sisters’ Mission: “Fullness of Life for the Earth…”

Yvonne Munro, Mission Educator for the Sisters welcomed and introduced the theme.  A Power Point  presentation of ‘Julian Tenison Woods The Earnest Naturalist’ by Catherine Shelton gave a brief understanding  of the Sisters’ Co-Founder’s  wide range of interests and knowledge of the natural world.
This was followed by an account of the Sisters’ present day involvement with the earth by Noelene Landrigan.  Noelene spoke of the Wetland project on the property, and this led into a short presentation about some of the notable trees on the property by Anne Burke.
Afternoon tea and conversation concluded the afternoon.

Catherine Shelton speaks to her presentation on Julian Tenison Woods.

Volunteers Francesca Bourke RSJ, Rosemary Hicks and Jenny Low  work on their tree names.
