Parishioners of the Wanganui parishes of St Mary’s, St Anne’s, Holy Family, and the Maori people welcomed the Sisters to a Mid Winter Afternoon tea on 3 July 2005. This was to honour the 125th anniversary of the Sisters, the date of which had coincided with the 25th anniversary of the Diocese of Palmerston North.

After a formal powhiri on to Te Rau Oriwa Marae, the gathering moved upstairs to the St Joseph’s Hall. Bishop Peter Cullinane thanked the Sisters on behalf of the diocese, and Jo Kennedy spoke for the local parishes.
A hand crafted glass dish made by a local craftswoman, was presented to the Sisters. The parish choir entertained with a bracket of songs.
While enjoying afternoon tea, sisters and friends were able to enjoy one another’s company.
