25 Years of Care - April 2012

Nazareth Rest Home celebrated Home Assistant Anne Linton's 25 years Service on Wednesday 11th and Friday 13th of April 2012.
Anne was one of the earliest staff members of Nazareth Rest Home.

Nazareth had been built as a Convent for senior Sisters of St Joseph in 1981.  However in the following years, the numbers of Sisters coming to live there was very small so the decision was made to use the facility for others by opening it as a Rest Home.  Kim Krs was appointed Matron and set about staffing the Home ready for residents.  Anne Linton came highly recommended and was one of the first taken on as a Home Assistant.  Since that time Anne has worked under four Matron/Managers, as well as with many staff members.  In her role as Home Assistant she has looked after, and become friend to many residents, and won the respect and gratitude of their families

An extra-special morning tea was put on for Anne, where she was presented with a nurse’s watch from her team mates.

At a lunch with the residents Anne is shown receiving flowers from friend and staff member Karyn Coleman.  She was also given a spa-care package, a week’s special leave, and the following poem written especially for her:

Anne, you offer us so much, a heart that is kind.
Thinking of others, in your beautiful mind.
Your qualities combined are extremely rare,
You come to work each morning with a smile and care.

Everything you do, we respect and praise,
You’re a wonderful person, you always amaze.

We wish to say thank you from deep in our hearts
For so many lives here at Nazareth.
You are such a big part.
