Nazareth Rest Home News

Farewell to Chaplain

After 9 years of her presence on staff at Nazareth, Elizabeth Peill has resigned to spend more time with her family.  On her final day at Nazareth, residents and staff gathered for a farewell morning tea and presentation.

Care Manager Ingrid recalled how Elizabeth had always been accessible for residents and staff and thanked her for her presence.  Resident Pat Fairman thanked Elizabeth for all she had been and done for the residents over the years and wished her well.

Elizabeth’s partner chaplain Anne Burke, drew attention to the way in which the two of them had worked together, modeling the openness to the various Christian beliefs represented among residents.   Both in her individual time with residents and in Chapel services, Elizabeth had shown a real understanding of the vision of the Home to enable residents to live in fullness of life.

Elizabeth thanked the residents and staff for their love over the years, particularly during her difficult family times.  She spoke of her hopes for her future, which included keeping in touch with the Nazareth community.
